ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to the Ada MCP server over OAuth. A paid ChatGPT plan is recommended for higher usage limits.
Requirements
- A ChatGPT account at chatgpt.com.
- An Ada dashboard account. Available tools depend on your role — see Permissions.
Steps
- Open ChatGPT in your browser.
- Click your name in the bottom left.
- Click Settings.
- Click Apps.
- Scroll down and click Advanced settings.
- Toggle Developer mode to On.
- Click Create app just above the toggle.
- Fill out these values:
- Name: A name for this connection (for example, “Ada” or your company name).
- Description: A description that helps ChatGPT recognize when to use this connection (for example, “Use when asked about Acme Corp’s AI Agent data, CSAT, or conversation analytics”).
- MCP Server URL:
https://<your-ada-instance-domain>/api/mcp/oauth(see Authentication). - Authentication: OAuth.
- OAuth Client ID (Optional): Leave blank.
- OAuth Client Secret (Optional): Leave blank.
- Select the I understand and want to continue checkbox.
- Wait 5–10 seconds to be redirected to a page where you are asked to enter your Ada handle.
- Enter your Ada handle (the subdomain from your Ada instance URL), select your region from the dropdown, and click Continue to Login.
- Log in with your Ada credentials.
- Click Allow access on the authorization page.
- Wait 15–30 seconds for the connection to complete.
- Start asking ChatGPT questions about your Ada AI Agent. See the prompt library for inspiration.
Helping ChatGPT recognize your Ada connection: A descriptive app description (step 8) helps ChatGPT automatically detect when to use your Ada connection. If ChatGPT doesn’t use it automatically, manually add it: click the + icon in the chat bar → More → select your Ada app to ensure it’s used throughout that conversation.
Next steps
