adacli
Overview
adacli is a command-line tool that manages an AI Agent from a terminal. Use it to read and change Knowledge, Playbooks, and other Agent configuration, to search Conversations, and to review performance data.
Install adacli:
For Windows, see Windows.
Log in to your Agent. Replace acme with the handle of your Agent:
For the login steps and other install methods, see Getting started.
What you can do
Every command prints readable tables by default. Add --json to any command to get machine-readable output for scripts. AI coding assistants, such as Claude Code, can also run adacli to do these tasks for you.
With adacli, you can:
- Read and change Knowledge, Playbooks, and other Agent configuration.
- Search Conversations to see how your AI Agent answered customers.
- Review performance data for your AI Agent.
Versioning
For what a new release can change, and for the supported releases, see Versioning.
Usage data
adacli sends usage data to PostHog, a product analytics service. You cannot turn off the usage data. Each command sends your email address and name, the Agent instance, the command name, whether the command succeeded, and how long it took. adacli never sends the output of a command or the values you give to it.
When an AI coding assistant runs adacli, it can also record a plain-language description of its task. adacli sends that description and a session ID with the commands in the same session.
Available commands
adacli shows only the commands that your Agent supports. If a feature is not available for your Agent, adacli hides its commands.
adacli includes its own reference and help text.
- To see the options for a command, add
--help, for exampleadacli acme knowledge --help. - To read the full guide to every command, run
adacli acme docs guide. - To give an AI coding assistant a guide to adacli, run
adacli acme docs claude-code.
For questions or problems, contact your Ada team. Before you report a problem, upgrade to the latest release. Include the output of adacli --version in your report.
