Introducing Messaging

Messaging is Ada’s next-generation web and mobile SDK for embedding an AI Agent. It replaces Chat and the legacy Chat SDKs: the web embed2.js script tag, @ada-support/embed2 npm package, iOS, Android, and React Native.

On desktop, custom apps can size, position, and style their frame with setFrameStyles, including transparent backgrounds. Read appearance.hostViewport to adapt the frame to the available space. Launch Controls now serves the alternative AI Agent in the Messaging web SDK.

Ada has deprecated Chat. Messaging fully replaces Chat on December 15, 2026. Before you choose a migration path, identify whether your website uses the script tag or npm package. Check mobile applications separately.

If you use the Chat script tag, embed2.js, you do not need to change your code. Ada moves each AI Agent to Messaging, starting October 1, 2026. Keep your existing script tag and read the web script migration guide.

If you use the @ada-support/embed2 npm package, Ada cannot move it for you. Replace it with the Messaging SDK package before December 15, 2026. Follow the npm migration guide.

If you use a legacy iOS, Android, or React Native SDK, upgrade to the Messaging SDK for your platform before December 15, 2026. Follow the upgrade guide for iOS, Android, or React Native.
