Customizing your AI Agent's branding is an important step to make it align with your brand identity. Customizing your AI Agent involves steps like incorporating your brand colors, designing an eye-catching chat button, and ensuring accessibility. In this topic, explore the significance of these customization options and how they enhance the experience of interacting with your AI Agent.

Accessibility

Accessibility is a fundamental aspect of your AI Agent's customization. It ensures that your chat is usable by everyone. Here are some key accessibility features:

  • Keyboard and screen reader support: Customers can navigate the entire chat with a keyboard and/or screen reader.

  • Color contrast: Depending on your brand color, the chat will automatically adjust to ensure color contrast between elements on the page. Chat content will always have sufficient contrast, making it readable for all users.

Access branding customization options

To begin customizing your AI Agent, head to Channels > Web chat.

There are four categories you can customize on the Appearance tab. Depending on your organization's subscription package, you may also see additional Advanced branding features.

General customization settings

  • AI Agent name – Customize your AI Agent's name, with multilingual support.

  • AI Agent description (optional) – Create a short, customizable description for your AI Agent, which sets the context for new chats.

  • Show privacy policy link – Decide whether to display a privacy policy link.

  • Enable sound by default – Choose whether sound is enabled by default.

  • Allow customers to email transcript – Allow customers to email chat transcripts.

  • Allow customers to download transcript – Allow customers to download chat transcripts.

Chat window settings

  • Advanced colors – Allows you to choose custom text colors in addition to background colors. If this setting is toggled off, when you select a background color, the text on it defaults to either black or white, depending on which provides the best contrast.

  • Accent color – Define an accent color for your chat window.

  • AI Agent avatar – Customize your AI Agent's avatar.

  • Human agent avatar – This is only available for AI Agents with certain handoff integrations.

Chat button settings

  • You can customize the appearance of the chat button with options for icon (default or custom) and color.

Fallback message settings

In the rare event that chat services go down, you can create content to show up for customers instead of the usual web chat window.

  • Language

    Choose the language to create fallback text for.

  • Icon and message

    Ada provides you with a default error icon and message that you can customize or override as necessary.

  • Button labels and URLs (optional)

    By default, there are no action buttons provided for chat errors; however, you can add links to alternate actions or resources if you wish. In the Button label field, enter the button text to display; and in the URL field, enter the URL that the button should open when clicked.

Advanced branding features

With advanced branding, you can customize even more of your AI Agent's look and feel:

  • Header color – Customize a header color directly in the the dashboard. This is independent of the brand color used throughout the rest of the chat.

  • Theme (light or dark mode) – You can choose from the following settings:

    • Light mode

    • Dark mode

    • Automatically default to user's device

  • Chat style – Choose between two ways of styling the chat:

    • Rounded corners

    • Rectangular corners

  • Configurable font sizes – Choose between 3 font sizes:

    • Small (14px body font)

    • Standard (16px body font)

    • Large (17px body font)

  • Chat button with custom text - Instead of a chat icon, you can add a custom text button (max 18 characters)
