# Autocapture variables now included in the Data Export API

The [Data Export API](/reference/data-export/overview) now returns [**autocapture variables**](/docs/automation/variables/using-variables#autocapture-variables) within the `variables` attribute of each [conversation object](/data-export-conversation-object). Previously, this attribute contained only [**global variables**](/docs/automation/variables/using-variables#global-variables).

This enhancement is available across all versions of the API and requires no configuration changes.
