# Data Export API v1.4 release and other improvements

* Version 1.4 of the [Data Export API](/reference/data-export/data-export-v1-4/overview) is now available, including new topic fields in conversation objects.
* For Version 1.3, the following improvements were made:
  * Variables longer than 1000 characters are no longer truncated.
  * Fixed a bug specific to Version 1.3 where all variable and metavariable values were lowercased. They are now case-sensitive.
* For all versions of the API, threshold errors now return 429 instead of 500 status codes.
