# Appearance settings

## Overview

Configure the hosted [Messaging](/docs/channels/messaging) interface to match your brand. Dashboard settings control the launcher and conversation window.

## Capabilities & configuration

[Messaging](/docs/channels/messaging) uses the existing **Appearance** controls.

| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **General**          | Set the Agent name, description, privacy link, notification sounds, transcript options, and file uploads. **Enable file uploads to human agents** controls uploads during a handoff. **Enable image uploads to your AI Agent** controls images sent to the AI Agent. Ask your Ada team to enable image uploads first. See [Images](/docs/other/images). |
| **Chat window**      | Set colors, theme, shape, text size, and avatars.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       |
| **Chat button**      | Set the launcher's icon, text, colors, and size.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        |
| **Fallback message** | Configure content shown when the conversation service is unavailable.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   |

The controls retain their chat interaction names. The channel navigation label becomes **Messaging** after transition.

## Implementation & usage

Preview [Messaging](/docs/channels/messaging) in each language and layout you support.

**To configure appearance:**

1. Open **Config > Channels > Messaging**.
2. Open **Appearance**.
3. Expand the control you want to change.
4. Update the settings and review the preview.
5. Click **Save changes**.
6. Test the result in your installed website or app.

Confirm contrast, long messages, keyboard navigation, and transcript access in the finished integration.
