# Web Chat SDK: handle reset errors

Web Chat SDK version 1.16.16 retries a full `reset()` if a session change prevents it from clearing the session. If the retry cannot clear the session, the promise rejects with an error. The failed reset leaves the current session active and unchanged.

Use `try/catch` when you await `reset()` to handle this error. Browsers that block third-party storage can still reset the session.
