# Code tools: send an email from a conversation

A code tool can now send an email with `send_email(to, subject, body, bcc=None, html=False, reply_to=None)`. The email goes out from your Agent's Email channel address, as plain text or HTML. Use it for a one-time code, an order confirmation, or any message the AI Agent needs to put in the end user's inbox mid-conversation. The result tells the Playbook whether the email was sent.

## Who this affects

Agents with email sending from code tools turned on and the Email channel set up. Contact your Ada team to turn it on. Each conversation can send up to 3 emails, and each address can receive up to 10 a day.
